This Project Provides Funding for the Hope Program, Inc. to Recruit, Train, and Place Unemployed and Underemployed Residents of Bronx, New York in Environmental Careers With Skills Needed to Safely Conduct Remediation Work at Solid and Hazardous Waste-contaminated Sites, as Well as Appropriate Training in Wastewater Management and Chemical Safety. the Training Program Includes 107 Hours of Instruction in 40-HOUR Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, Asbestos Handler, and Building Performance Institute-multi-family Building Operator. Students Who Complete the Training Will Earn Up to One State and Two Federal Certifications. Hope Addresses Both Economic and Environmental Issues in the South Bronx and Beyond by Preparing Unemployed and Underemployed New Yorkers for Jobs in Green Construction and Maintenance, Energy Auditing, and Other Relevant Fields.
