Description:this Grant Agreement, Funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) (PL 117-58), Provides Financial Assistance to the DC Water and Sewer Authority to Continue Its Ongoing Program to Remove and Replace All Lead Service Lines in the District of Columbia. the Replacement of Lead Service Lines Is Necessary to Ensure the Quality, Quantity, Reliability, and Safety of the Drinking Water Supplied to the People of the District of Columbia in Accordance With the Objectives of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Activities:funding Will Be Directed to DC Water's Ongoing Lead Service Line Replacement Program and Will Include: 1) Providing Financial Assistance to Support the District of Columbia's 'lead Pipe Replacement Assistance Program' (LPRAP) and 'house by House Program' (HXH). These Programs Provide Financial Assistance to Individual Homeowners Through the District Department of Energy and Environment and DC Water to Replace Lead Service Lines on Private Property Where Past Partial Replacements Were Previously Completed or Where Priority Replacements Are Needed to Address a Vulnerable Population; 2) Providing Financial Assistance to Support DC Water's 'emergency Repair Program' Which Replaces Connected Lead Service Lines When Emergency Repairs Are Conducted and Necessary; 3) Providing Financial Assistance to Support DC Water's Replacement of Lead Service Lines When Encountered in Its Ongoing 'small Diameter Water Main Rehabilitation Program' (sdwmr). Specifically, These 'small Diameter Water Main Rehabilitation Contracts' Include Progressive Design Build 1 (PBD 1) Containing Contracts 20A, 20B, 21C, 22A, and 22C, Progressive Design Build 2 (PBD 2) Containing Contracts 22B, 22D, a, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H, Progressive Design Build 3 (PBD 3) Containing Contracts 23A and 23B, Progressive Design Build 4 (PBD 4) Containing Contract 24, Progressive Design Build 5 (PBD 5) Containing Contract 25, Progressive Design Build 6 (PBD 6) Containing Contract 26, Progressive Design Build 7 (PBD 7) Containing Contract 27, and Progressive Design Build 8 (PBD 8) Containing Contract 28. Contract Numbers May Be Subject to Change. These Contracts Are Expected to Replace an Estimated 9,000 Lead Service Lines Throughout the City. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Benefits of This Grant Agreement Will Be to Use the Recipient's Dwsrf With the Primary Purpose Being to Reduce Lead in Drinking Water by Funding Projects Emphasizing the Identification and Removal of Lead Service Lines. the Grant Will Provide Assurance of a Cleaner and Safer Potable Water Supply by Funding Improvements to These Water Infrastructure Projects. These Public Health Benefits Will Be District-wide.
