Description:agsafe's Project Is an Agricultural Worker Protection Standard (WPS) Training Program. Agsafe Will Design and Implement a Training Program to Deliver the Pesticide Safety Trainings Required Under the WPS Regulation (including Required Information on Spills/site Remediation) to Agricultural Workers and Pesticide Handlers. Through These Trainings, the Project Will Bridge Gaps in Pesticide Safety Compliance and Education Across Key Agricultural Regions in the United States and Pacific Islands. the Purpose of the Award Is to Improve the Health and Safety of Agricultural Workers and Pesticide Handlers by Delivering Appropriate WPS Training. the Purpose Is Also to Support Efficient Regulatory Compliance With WPS Training Requirements, Fostering Collaboration Between Agencies and Stakeholders and Reducing Delays in Agricultural Operations. Activities:the Activities Include 1) Delivering Multilingual Pesticide Safety Trainings in Ca, Hi, Ky, NC, Wa, or, FL, Ga, in, TN, Guam, and the Cnmi; 2) Establishing a Train-the-trainer Network to Deliver Education Locally and Extend Reach and Continuity of Programs; 3) Developing and Enhancing WPS Educational Resources, Including Digital Resources; 4) Building Regional Advisory Groups to Ensure Local Insights Guide Program Implementation; 5) Strengthening Relationships Among Agricultural Organizations, Employers, and Other Groups to Reduce Duplication and Extend the Collective Impact; 6) Outreach Campaigns; and 7) Measuring Impact and Outcomes Through Tools Such as Pre/post Surveys, Trainer Feedback, and Regional Assessments, and Analysis of Trends.subrecipient:subawards Will Go to Three Nonprofit Organizations: the California Farmworker Foundation, North Carolina Agromedicine Institute, and the Western Tree Nut Association. the Subawards Support the Adaptation of Trainings to Local Needs, as Well as Training, Outreach, and Engagement Activities in Support of the Project's Goals and Objectives. California Farmworker Foundation Will Support Outreach and Training in California Cities Including Santa Maria, Bakersfield, and Fresno. NC Agromedicine Institute Will Support Trainings in North Carolina Cities Including Greensboro and Smithfield. Western Tree Nut Association Will Conduct Outreach to Employers to Increase Uptake of the Program Among Agricultural Employers, Throughout the West Coast.outcomes:anticipated Deliverables/outputs Include: - WPS Training Sessions for Farmworkers and Handlers Across 11 States and Territories. - Training Materials, Tools, and Digital Resources Customized for Different Ag Worker Audiences. - a Trainer Resource Hub With Customizable Tools for Trainers. - Train-the-trainer Sessions and Annual Summits to Expand Program Delivery. - Regional Advisory Groups to Ensure Program Relevance. - Employer-focused Workshops to Promote Compliance and Worker Safety.
