Description:the Purpose of This Project Is to Provide Training to Develop and Expand the Capability of State and Tribal Underground Injection Control (UIC) and Source Water Protection (SWP) Programs.activities:project Elements Include: - Provide Leadership and Support to States and Tribes on Emerging And/or High Priority Issues; - Sponsor Annual Meetings for Uic and SWP Programs; - Develop and Deliver Training for Uic Class Vi Regulators; - Support and Encourage State and Tribal Participation in the Uic Data Application; - Disseminate and Share Information With States, Tribes, and Other Stakeholders; - and Any Additional Project Elements Proposed as Key Features of the Project.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:anticipated Deliverables Include, But Are Not Limited to, Identification and Development of Strategies to Address One or Two Emerging/high Priority Issues Per Year for Uic and SWP Programs Per Year; Holding an Annual Forum Broadly Focused on Uic , SWP, and Groundwater Protection, an Annual Uic Conference, and an Annual Policy Meeting; Development and Delivery of Training Modules for Uic Class Vi Regulators; and Technical Support for Primacy Programs on Use of the Uic Data Application and Geologic Sequestration Data Tool. Examples of Anticipated Outcomes From the Assistance Agreement to Be Awarded Under This Announcement Include, But Are Not Limited to, Increased Awareness and Knowledge of Practices That Promote Protection of Drinking Water Sources and the Resulting Benefits to Public Health Protection Efforts; Improved Capacity of States and Tribes With Primacy to Implement Uic Programs; Improved Ability to Identify Well Types, Locations, and Types of Fluids Being Injected Nationwide; Enhanced Exchange of Information Regarding Best Practices and Improved Capacity of State and Tribal Agencies to Strengthen SWP Programs; and Enhanced State and Tribal Knowledge of the Uic Class Vi Program and Technical Considerations for Class Vi Permitting. Beneficiaries Will Include Agencies That Are Responsible for Implementing Uic and SWP Programs, and State and Tribal Officials Involved in Drinking Water Protection; Regulators Who Review Uic Class Vi Well Permit Applications and Issue Class Vi Permits or Are Seeking Class Vi Primacy; and Uic Operators.
