Description:this Project Will Evaluate the Bioavailability of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in Agricultural Environments, Research Pfas Transport Into Secondary Animal Products, and Identify Previously Uncharacterized Sources of Pfas.activities:this Project Will (1) Characterize Pfas Partitioning in Plant Cultivation and Compare With Soil Type and Residual Treatment, (2) Evaluate Pfas Uptake in Fish Through Dietary Sources, (3) Measure Pfas Distribution Through Drinking Water and Food, and (4) Develop Mitigation Strategies for Pfas Accumulation.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:anticipated Deliverables Include Inventories of Pfas Sources at Agricultural Facilities, Models to Predict Pfas Elimination, Final Reports and Peer Reviewed Articles. Expected Outcomes of This Research Includes the Development of On-farm Pfas Management Practices for Pfas. Intended Beneficiaries Include Farms, Agricultural Facilities, State and Local Regulators, and Consumers of Agricultural Products.
