Description:this Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Assistance Agreement Will Provide Technical Assistance (e.g., Information, Training, Expert Advice) Using P2 Practices to Address Environmental Justice Concerns and Improve Human Health and the Environment in Disadvantaged Communities. Kansas State University Pollution Prevention Institute's Proposed Project Will Provide Technical Assistance to Industries and Institutions, Whose Lack of Information Impedes Source Reduction, to Identify Ways Clients Can Change the Material, Process, or Technology to Reduce Waste at the Source (including Chemical Substitution). Activities:the Priorities and Goals of the P2 Grant Are: Promote Sustainability Through Both Environmental Education and Services to Industry, Institutions and Communities. Specifically, the Activities to Be Performed Include: - on- and Off-site P2 Assistance and Assessments - Provision and Implementation of P2 Recommendations - Training, Public Technical Assistance Seminars - Case Study Development - Development of a Virtual Reality P2 Gaming Product With Versatile Applications for Innovative P2 Technical Training in Ej Communities in the State of Kansas. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Technical Assistance Anticipated Under the Grant Is Expected to Provide the Following P2 Deliverables, and Anticipated Outputs and Outcomes to Support Targeted Disadvantaged Communities. the Grantee Anticipates Improve Human Health and the Environment in Disadvantaged Communities by Conserving Natural Resources and Preventing Hazardous Substances, Pollutants, and Contaminants From Entering Waste Streams or From Being Released in Communities Identified Using the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool or Cejst and Epa's P2 Ej Facility Mapping Tool. Anticipated Deliverables Include Providing Technical Assistance to Industry, Institutions and Small Businesses, Provide Technical Training to Ici Partner Entities Targeted Ej Communities, and P2 Training Using Virtual Reality Technology. the Expected Outcomes Include: - Annual Reduction in Pounds of Hazardous Materials Used and of Hazardous Substances, Pollutants and Contaminants Released: 11,000 Pounds - Annual Reductions in Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent (MTCO2E): 1300 MTCO2E - Annual Reductions in Gallons of Water Used: 75,000,000 Gallons - Annual Dollar Savings Associated With Implementing P2 Actions: $350,000 Direct Beneficiaries Will Include Industries and Institutions in the Ej Communities in the State of Kansas.
