State Fire Marshal Nebraska

The Purpose of This Project Is to Enhance It and Data Management Capabilities That Facilitate the Electronic Collection, Reporting, Exchange, Sharing and Integration of the Full Range of Data That Informs the Business of Environmental Protection. This Project Will Provide Public Stakeholders With Open Access to Information on and Locations of Underground Storage Tanks (USTS) and Develop Standardized Schema for Describing Ust Infrastructure. Anticipated Deliverables Include: Use of the Virtual Exchange Service to Facilitate the Sharing and Collection of Ust Informationand National Ust Data Schema to Develop and Apply Common Nomenclature to State Ust Dataand and Geospatial Data on Ust Facilities. Expected Outcomes Include: Improved Prevention and Cleanup Programs, as Well as Enhanced Emergency Response Capabilities Due to Modernized Ust Data Exchange Within the State, Among States and With National Entitiesand Improved Capabilities to Exchange Data Within and Among State Programs and With Epa Through Standardized Schemaand Improved Decision Making On-site, Reduced Costs, and Decreased Response Times Due to a Centralized System That Enhances Communication Within and Among State Programsand Improved Source Water Protection and Reduced Risk of Impacting Public and Private Drinking Water Suppliesand and Improved Indoor Air Quality by Reducing Exposure to Petroleum Vapor Intrusion in Buildings Through the Ability to Assess Geospatial Data in Advance of an Event. Intended Beneficiaries Included: Nebraska State Fire Marshal Staff, All 50 States Governments, and the Public. Subrecipient Activities: There Are No Formal Subawards Anticipated to Be Issued Under This Award. the Recipient Will Partner With the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, Who Will Share in the Deliverables and Outcomes as Detailed Above.
