Yet the Exact Causes of GDS Initiation What Determines Onset Time and Location and Why They Occur in Only Some Years Remain Unknown. a Better Understanding and Model Representation of GDS Activity Would Result in Better Simulations of Surface Conditions During a GDS Improved Confidence in Paleo-mars Modeling and Potentially the Ability to Forecast GDS.
