The Ocean Optics Conference Series Supports Science Mission Directorate Objectives by Bringing Together International Researchers to Share Recent Results and Data Discuss Ongoing Work Refine Approaches and Collaborate on Ideas for Future Research. an Important Goal of These Interactions Is to Promote Increased Efficiency and Coordination of Future Scientific Projects. This Proposal Requests Funds to Support Activities at the 24TH Ocean Optics Conference Taking Place October 7 12 2018 in Dubrovnik Croatia. Conference Objectives Support the Goal of Collecting and Disseminating New Observations Listed in Implementation Strategy Detailed on Page 44 Section 4.2 (earth Sciences) of the 2014 Nasa Science Plan. in Addition to Plenary Talks Oral Presentations and Poster Sessions an Important Component of the Ocean Optics Conference Is the Inclusion of Special Events Such as Town Halls Workshops Short Courses and Project Meetings. Organizers of Projects Including Pace Hyspiri and Geo-cape (included in the 2014 Nasa Science Plan on Pages 54-55 Table 4.6 Future Earth Science Strategic Research Missions) Discussed Plans and Activities for Current and Future Ocean Color Missions. This Proposal Requests Support for Management of the Abstract Submission Review and Scheduling Process Graduate Student Participation Oral and Poster Session Facilities and the Jerlov Award and Best Student Paper Activities. Other Support for the Conference Derives From Individual Registration and Exhibitor Fees. Additional Funding Will Be Sought From International Agencies Local Government Entities and Other Interested Organizations.
