Purpose: the Purpose of This Project Is to Test and Validate the Application of the Pre-planning Camera-based Product (geocam Visual Mapping System) to Automate Fire Pre-plan Maps That Will Help Fire Departments Know in Advance of Building Layouts, Location of Critical Objects Supporting Their Effective Response, and Potential Hazards. the System Will Provide Geo-located Imagery Outdoors and Indoors, Supporting Remote and Frequent Virtual Training for Department Members on Critical Structures Within a City. It Will Also Enable the Department to Obtain New Information on Structural Changes on a Regular Basis to Help Improve On-demand Pre-planning.activities to Be Performed: 1) Image and Map Most of the City of Boise? Streets and a Number of Its Critical Buildings. 2) Produce Ground Truth Maps of the Pre-plan Objects, Including Hydrants, Sprinkler/standpipe Connections, Emergency Exits, Knox Boxes, Stairwells, and Floor Plans. 3) Generate an Automated Map Book for Each Critical Building, Containing the Pre-plan Maps for Each Floor and Selected Images From Each Room. 4) Develop a Comprehensive Machine Learning Model for the Pre-plan Objects, Incorporating the Labeled Images. 5) Measure and Report on the Machine Learning Model Accuracy Developed in This Project. 6) Test and Measure the Response Time of Firefighters to Reach a Location Inside of a Building as Influenced by the Use of the Developed Pre-plan Maps. Expected Outcomes: 1. Geocam Software as a Service (SAAS) Hosted as a Service for the City of Boise. This Will Include Pre-plan Data and Imagery of the City Streets and the Aforementioned Buildings. 2. Open-source Machine Learning Model for Each of the Pre-plan Data Model Objects. 3. Physical Map Books for Each Critical Building, Providing Both Map and Imagery Pages. 4. Training Session Procedures and Documentation on Using the Geocam System. This Will Be Used by Boise Fire Department on New Buildings.intended Beneficiaries: the Proposed Project Offers Significant Broader Impact to the Public Safety Community, Commercial Building Owners /operators, and the Public. the Western Fire Chief Association and Geocam Will Have a Well-tested Service Template Available as a Commercial Offering to Any Fire Department, Local Government, and Commercial Company. This Service Will Allow Said Agencies and Safety/ Security Teams to Improve Their Mapping and Fire Pre-planning and Improve Their Training, Promoting Safer Practices for First Responders and the Communities They Serve.subrecipient Activities: Geocam Will Serve as a Subcontractor for the Proposed Project and Provide Personnel for This Project.
