Expected Outcomes Through the Commissions Planning and Coordination Efforts Include Expandedand Improved Intercity, Commuter, and Freight Rail Services Operating With Greater Safety and Reliability, Reducedtravel Times, Increased Frequencies and Enhanced Intermodal Connections Designed to Address Airport Andhighway Congestion, Reduced Transportation Energy Consumption, Improved Air Quality, and Increased Economicdevelopment of the Nec Region. Amtrak, Necc, Fra, and Passengers of Amtrak Service Will Benefit From Thecollaboration and Administrative Support Provided by Necc. Additionally, Passengers on the Northeast Corridorroutes Will Benefit From the Continued Growth and Success of These Intercity Passenger Rail Services.
