Amtrak Is Working in Cooperation With Amtraks Labor Organizations and Amtraks Engineering Department to Implement A12-MONTH Engineering Track Foremen Inspectors Workforce Development Apprenticeship Training Program That Willprovide Upward Mobility for Current Employees by Training for Leadership 25 Employees in the Pilot Class and 35 Additionalemployees in the Additional Class to Become Engineering Track Foremen, Leading Track Maintenance Crews. It Is Imperativethat Amtrak Retain Its Current Employees and Cultivate a Highly Skilled and Knowledgeable Track Workforce. This Will Ensureamtrak Equipment and Facilities Are Maintained to the Highest Standard Which in Turn Will Provide a Safer Workingenvironment for Its Employees and a Reliable Safe Fleet for Its Passengers.implementation of the Project Will Support the Development of a More Robust Training Requirement for New Employeesentering This Career Field, Improve Employee Morale, Offer Ascension Opportunities for Amtrak Employees, and Contribute Tolocal Economies.
