Purpose/scope: the Project Provides for Renovation of a Pre-existing 2000 Square Foot Meeting Space and Construction of a 21,650 SF New, Two-story, Detached Facility to Replace the Existing Science Center. Includes, Architectural, Mechanical, Hvac, Plumbing, Electrical, Security, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm and Site Improvements Costs, Including Site Access, Parking, Sidewalks, and Landscape. Activities to Be Performed: Project Summary(i) Existing Space (15,435 Sf)(ii) New and Renovated Building Space (23,650SF)(III) Use / Occupancy of Each Space (general Program Pillars) as Follows:marine Mammal Response, Rescue & Rehabilitation 1,870 Sfnature Based Early Learner Center 2,266 Sfteaching Laboratory 966 Sfcontemporary Museum/ Community Space 12,452 Sfcultural History/ Human Use 1,960 Sfsustainable Operations & Resilient Site 4,136 SF (IV) Site Is Located Within Odiorne Point State Park. Project Boundary Is Around 3.8 Acres.(v) There Is No (non-building) Equipment Under the Award. Expected Outcomes: the Overall Objective for This Capital Project Is to Provide the State of New Hampshire and Itsregional Coastal Partners in Southern Maine and Northern Massachusetts, With an Updatedenvironmental Science Institution.intended Beneficiaries:from a Contemporary Museum Setting, We Will Be Able to Engage Upwards of 150,000 Visitors Each Year With Programs and Exhibits That Weave Natural History, Environmental Challenges, Historic, Present, and Future Human Uses, With Conservation Measures and Adaptive Strategies Targeting the Preservation of the Coastal Character and Natural Resources of the Region. the Facility Will Be a Public Model for Sea Level Rise Resilient Planning and Construction, Environmentally Sustainable Museum Operations, and a Community Focal Point for Environmental Education and Conservation.subrecipient Activities: None
