In Alignment With Chief Tom Schultz's Priorities (recreation and Health & Safety), This Supplemental Project Agreement With Conservation Corps (CCMI) Will Enable the Completion of Mission Critical Work on the Superior National Forest. This Will Be Done During the 2025 Recreation Field Season by Funding Ccmi Crew Members Who Will Provide Support to Forest Service Staff in Executing Maintenance Activities in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (bwcaw).a Secondary Benefit of This Agreement Is That It Will Provide the Crews With Skills and Experiences to Be Good Future Stewards of Public Lands. Activities Performed Will Include Maintaining the Safety of Wilderness Camping Areas and Wilderness Portages Such as the Following: Installation of Rock and Log Water Bars; Checking Dams, Rock Armoring, Tree Transplanting, Installation of Drainage Features (dips, Drains, Puncheons, Etc.) and Boardwalk Installation and Replacement. These Items Will Also Facilitate the Ability of Recreationists to Pass Over Portages and on Trails Safely and Will Promote Safe Conditions of Campsites by Ensuring Water Drainage.
