Under This Disaster Funded Agreement, the Student Conservation Association Will Offer Two Wildland Firefighting and Prescribed Fire Crews With an Emphasis on Disaster Relief. the Crews Are Comprised of 4 Crew Members and 1 Crew Leader Per Crew. They Will Serve as a Fuels Management Crew for 16 Weeks (2 Weeks of Training Included) Per Year for the Next Five Years. Crews Will Assist With Increasing Capacity for Hazardous Fuels Reduction Within the Wildland Urban Interface Through Partnership With Student Conservation Association to Increase Pace and Scale of Hazardous Fuels Reduction Within Forest Health and Fuels Emergency Situation Determination Will Increase Capacity for Hazardous Fuels Reduction Within the Wildland Urban Interface Through Partnership With Student Conservation Association to Increase Pace and Scale of Hazardous Fuels Reduction Within Forest Health and Fuels Emergency Situation Determination, Amplified by Past and Recent Storm Events Such as Hurricane Beryl. Utilizes Disaster Recovery Funding to Meet Operations Necessary for Prescribed Burning High Risk Wildland Urban Interface Within the Urban Sprawl of the Greater Houston Area and Eastern Texas Over the Next Five Years to Reduce Risk to Homes and Communities. Provides on the Job Training and Increases Recruitment Pool for Federal Wildland Fire Positions by Engaging and Developing Future Candidates.
