Through This Agreement, the Forest Service Is Allocating $138,754.86 in Funding to Grant Soil & Water Conservation District for a Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Project. Baer Funding Is Special Emergency Wildfire Funding Used to Address Immediate Risks to Humans, Property, and Natural Resources Following a Wildfire. Grant Soil & Water Conservation District Will Accomplish This Project Over the Next Several Years by Utilizing It's Staff to Restore and Enhance Recently-burned Areas on the Malheur National Forest. Specifically, Activities Will Focus on Controlling Invasive Plants Within Recent Fire Scars, Focusing on Fire-related Disturbances Along Dozer Lines and Safety Areas, Major Forest and County Roads, Federal and State Roads, Rock Pits, Recreation Areas, and Other Known Infestation Areas or Special Habitats. This Work Will Be Completed by 1/31/2028.
