This Is a Phased Agreement With Initial Funding for the FY26 National Visitor Use Monitoring (NVUM) Program. Nvum Provides Science-based Estimates of the Volume and Characteristics of Recreation Visitation to the National Forest System, as Well as the Benefits Recreation Brings to the American Public. Completed in 5-YEAR Cycles, the Nvum Program Provides Quality Data to Inform Forest Service Management of Recreation Resources to Best Meet the Needs of Visitors While Maintaining the Quality of the Natural Resource Base. the Partner Will Manage the Project in Close Coordination With the Forest Service. This Agreement Includes Funding to Complete Nvum Surveys for FY26 on the Angeles, Inyo, Modoc, and Sequoia National Forests; and to Collaborate on Inventory and Design/ Initiate Surveys for FY27 Nvum Forests - Eldorado, Sierra and Stanislaus National Forests. Forest Level Nvum Schedules Will Be Finalized for the Out Years, Nvum Survey Year Begins October 1 and Is Completed by September 30. the Budget for an Nvum Year With 900-1,000 Sample Sessions Is Expected to Range Between $500,000 and $600,000, Subject to Conditions Such as Forest Closures Due to Wildfire or Public Safety Considerations.
