Award Purpose.worc Purpose: in Alignment With the JUSTICE40 Initiative, the Purpose of the Worc Initiative Grants Is to Create Economic Mobility, Address Historic Inequities for Marginalized Communities of Color, Rural Areas, and Other Underserved and Underrepresented Communities, and Produce High-quality Employment Outcomes for Workers Who Live or Work in the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border Regions, Enabling Them to Remain and Thrive in These Communities. Activities to Be Performed.summary of Project: Teamworc Builds Upon the Success of the Greater New Orleans Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program (gno Map) by Expanding Training Opportunities for a Wide Range of Career Options in Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Industry (AML) and Employment in Good Jobs. Through This Project, NTCC Will Establish an Associate of Applied Technical Studies in Advanced Manufacturing Program, Including Three Concentration Areas: Technical Diploma in Mechatronics, Certificate of Technical Studies in Occupational Health Safety, and Certificate of Technical Studies in Supply Chain Management. an APPRENTICE2ASSOCIATE Pathway Will Also Be Developed for Gno Map Apprentices to Gain Critical College Credit That Will Accelerate Wage Potential. Another Key Facet of Teamworc Is Comprised of Broadening the Onramps and Offramps to Good Jobs in the Aml Industry by Partnering With High Schools to Build Dual Enrollment Opportunities for Students and by Partnering With Local Universities (southeastern Louisiana University and Xavier University of Louisiana) to Devise Matriculation Agreements for Applicable Aml Degrees. the Annual Greater Northshore Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Summit Will Further Emphasize Career Awareness and the Promotion of Good Jobs by Exposing Students to the Various Career Pathways and the Importance of Providing Good Jobs for Residents. to Ensure All Aspects of Teamworc Are in Alignment With Broader Economic Development Priorities and Employer Needs, NTCC Will Partner With Greater New Orleans Development Foundation to Leverage Its Demand-driven Workforce Development Model and Its Industry Working Group: Gno Regional Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing Partnership. Through These Activities, It Is Anticipated That 90 Students Will Enter a Career Pathway in Jobs That Pay Above the Regional Average and 100 Students Will Participate in Rural Community Outreach Events Per Year.
