Nevada Rural Counties Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (NV Rural RSVP) Is a Self-sponsored Non-profit 501 (C)(3) Community Service Organization That Serves the Elderly and Other Citizens in Need in Nevada?s Rural, Frontier and Wilderness Communities. Today, RSVP Serves 15 of Nevada?s 17 Counties With a Demonstrated Record of Outstanding Service for 45 Years. RSVP Strengthens Communities Through Service Projects and Volunteering, Helps Nevada?s Elders Remain at Home to Age in Place With Dignity, Maintain a Healthy Quality of Life, and Be a Vital Part of Their Communities. NV Rural Rsvp?s Mission Is to Provide Lifesaving Volunteer Programs That Help Seniors Maintain Their Dignity, Self-respect and Independence. Our High-quality Supportive Programs Help Older Adults, Veterans and Adults With Disabilities to Remain Independent and Avoid Costly Long-term Institutional Care. NV Rural RSVP Is a Current and Past Senior Corps Grantee. the Organization Joins CNCS in the Pursuit to Improve Lives, Strengthen Communities and Foster Civic Engagement Through Service and Volunteering. in the Healthy Futures Focus Area, Services for This Population Include: 1) Volunteer Drivers Provide Escorted Door to Door Transportation; 2) Home Companion Volunteers Provide Socialization and Emotional Support; 3) Nutrition/food Support Is Provided to Low-income Seniors Through Senior Farmer's Market Coupons and Food Delivery; 4) Volunteer Drivers Provide Transportation for Veterans to Access Veterans Resources, Va Centers, Hospitals and Suicide Prevention Resources; 5) Home Companion Volunteers Provide Support and Assistance to Veterans. in Other Community Priorities, Services Include: 6) Volunteer Stations to Engage Volunteers to Serve in a Diverse Range of Activities That Support Broader Community Needs. an Estimated 370 RSVP Volunteers Will Serve During a 12-MONTH Period. of This Number, 160 RSVP Volunteers Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. at the End of the Three-year Grant, 4,575 Older Adults and Individuals With Disabilities Will Have Improved Capacity for Independent Living. the CNCS Federal Investment of $465,549 Will Be Supplemented by $236,274 of Non-federal Resources.
