The Senior Action, Inc. Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) Covers 37 Volunteer Service Years (VSYS) at 1044 Hours Per Year. an Estimated 39 Americorps Seniors FGP Volunteers Will Serve. of This Number, 37 Americorps Seniors FGP Volunteers Will Be Placed in Outcome Based Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include: Reading With Children, Assisting With Assignment Corrections, Reviewing Vocabulary Words, Acting as a Mentor and Positive Role Model and Helping to Build Positive Relationships. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Education. at the End of the Three Year Grant, It Is Anticipated That at Least 75% of the Children Working One-on-one With Americorps Seniors FGP Volunteers in Early Childhood Education Programs Will Demonstrate Gains in Social and Emotional Development and 75% of Children Working One-on-one With Americorps Seniors FGP Volunteers in the K-12 Setting Will Show Academic Improvement. the Americorps Federal Investment of $242,795 Will Be Supplemented by $30,238 in Applicant Share.
