Spark the Change Colorado (spark), Formerly Known as Metro Volunteers, Will Have an Estimated 74 Americorps Seniors Senior Companions (SC) Volunteers Enrolled in Its Senior Companion Program (SCP). of This Number 74 Americorps Seniors Volunteers Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Companionship Is the Overriding Activity and Is Offered When Assisting With Daily Activities, Providing Transportation Services, and Engagement With Communities. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Healthy Futures. at the End of the Three-year Grant, Approximately 400 Older Adults Served by SC Volunteers Will Have Increased Social Support or Improved Capacity for Independent Living (a Survey Response Rate of 80% of 500 Clients). the Americorps Federal Investment of $479,483 and Will Be Supplemented by $53,962 by Spark Through Non-federal Resources. Spark's SCP Serves in 5 Counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Jefferson, and Douglas Counties. Cities Served Represent a Mix of Urban and Suburban Neighborhoods in Denver, Aurora, Wheat Ridge, Westminster, Thornton, Lakewood, Littleton, Englewood, Conifer, Morrison, and Castle Rock. Individuals Served and SCP Volunteers Are Low-income and Will Benefit From the Companionship Activities. Senior Companion Volunteers Benefit by Remaining Active, Meeting a Social or Daily Need, and Feeling Valued. in This Way, SCP Meets the Focus Areas of Healthy Futures and Independent Living for Their Clients.
