Legal Applicant-colbert County Commission Proposed VOLUNTEERS-160 the Federal Share of the Budget Is 97,504 for a One Year Period, the Non-federal Share Is 54,223 Which Exceeds the Required Matching Funds of 30%. the Colbert County RSVP Program Will Have an Estimated 168 Volunteers Who Will Serve. of This Number, 98 Will Be Placed in Outcome Based Assignments. Some of Their Assignments Will Include Food Collection and Delivery, Meal Delivery, Tutoring, Disaster Preparedness Education, and Nutrition Education. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Healthy Futures. at the End of the Three Year Grant Our Program Intends to Build Up Food Security, Educate on Health and Nutrition, and Increase Food Security and Overall Nutrition. Volunteers Will Work Together With Communities, Local Authorities, and Local Organizations to Address and Help Resolve Hunger by Providing Food Items to Be Packed/distributed to Local School Children, Shut Ins, Disabled and Elderly in Our Area. These Programs Will Meet Both Immediate Needs for Nutritious Meals and Food to Those Who Otherwise Would Not Receive It. RSVP Wants to Work to Be a Part of the Solution to Help Feed Those in Need in Our Cities and Rural Communities. We Also Want to Work Together With Our Area Leaders, Volunteers, and Citizens to Reach a Common Goal of Providing for the Needs of Our Neighbors and Friends. We Hope to Increase Their Food Security, Nutrition Knowledge, Food Resources, and Promote Better Health and Happiness for Those That We Serve.
