An Estimated 223 RSVP Volunteers Will Serve the Communities Within Columbia County, Oregon. of This Number, 76 Volunteers Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include Tutoring and Mentoring Economically Disadvantaged Students in Our Local Head Start Programs and Public Schools; Improving School Attendance for Unaccompanied Homeless Teens, and Disaster Preparation Working With Our Local Community Emergency Response Team (cert), and Emergency Management. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Education. at the End of the Three- Year Grant, 15 At-risk Homeless, Unaccompanied Teen Students Will Increase School Attendance So They Can Graduate, 20 Pre-school Age Children Will Demonstrate Gains in School Readiness, 25 Students in K-12 Will Improve Academic Performance in Literacy And/or Math Over the Course of the CNCS - Supported Program's Involvement With the Student, and a Minimum of 15 Individuals Will Report Increased Disaster Readiness Through Completion of a Cert Training Program or Other Disaster Preparation Training. the CNCS Federal Investment of $76,434 Will Be Supplemented by $39296 of Non-federal Resources.
