Executive Summary: Dove, Inc. Is a Private Nonprofit, 501(C)(3), Multi-service Agency Headquartered in Decatur, Illinois. Dove Was Created as an Effort to Address the Unmet Human Needs and Social Injustices Experienced Throughout Our Community and Continues to Do So Today. Dove Has Sponsored the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Macon and Dewitt Counties for 43 Years. in Our Efforts to Continue to Support This Long-standing and Successful Program, We Are Proposing to Have 375 Volunteers and Requesting $70,268.00 in Federal Funding. the Requested Federal Investment of $70,268.00 Will Be Supplemented by a Proposed $34,541.00 in Matching State Funds Supplemented by $41,386.00 in Agency Received Donations to Meet the 30% Required Match and Local Donations to Support the Total Budget of $146,195.00 After Successfully Navigating the State of Illinois Budget Crisis Beginning in Fy 16 Dove and the RSVP Have Worked to Strengthen Our Focus on Our Healthy Future Goals. We Have Done So by Graduating Stations and Some Volunteers to Meet Those Goals and Better Serve the Community Needs. Volunteers Have Remained Active in the Community Serving Those Who Are Most at Risk, But Volunteers Have Become More Selective in the Stations and Opportunities That They Feel Deliver the Greatest Impact. Station Dynamics Changed Greatly After the State of Illinois Budget Crisis Which Forced Many Stations to Prioritize the Volunteer Opportunities by Eliminating Activities That Were Not Cost Effective or Held No Measurable Impact. These Changes Have Helped Tighten Their Budget Belts While Offering Volunteers More Impactful Opportunities. This Has Reduced Our Volunteer Force by 35 Volunteers But Has Increased Measurable Outcomes in a More Targeted Way. by Obtaining Financial Funding From This Grant, We Will Be Able to Continue to Work Hard in Our Efforts to Collaborate With Our Community Partners, Volunteer Stations, Advisory Council, Volunteers, and Staff to Address Our Areas Most Pressing Needs.
