The Foster Grandparent Program of Northern Utah and Its Sponsoring Organization, Weber Human Services Will Retain an Estimated 60 Foster Grandparent Volunteers Serving on Its Program. of This Number, All 60 Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Their Activities Will Include One-on-one Intensive Tutoring to Children With Special And/or Exceptional Needs Who Fall Below Benchmark on the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) Test in Elementary Schools and After-school Settings. They Will Also Provide Numeracy Skill Development to Students Struggling in Math. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Education K-12 Success- Number of Students With Improved Academic Performance in Literacy And/or Math. at the End of the Three-year Grant the Program Will Fulfill the Following Outcomes; 75% of the Elementary Age Students Who Received One-on-one Tutoring Will Improve Their Dibels Reading Scores and Math Skills by the End of Each School Year. 25% of the Children Tutored Will Reach Benchmark in Their Dibels Reading Scores by the End of Each School Year. 30 Youth Will Receive Help With Their School Based Assignments in After-school Programs and Summer School Programs Each Year. the CNCS Federal Investment of $922,146, Will Be Supplemented by $106,377LOCAL Match ($35,459 Per Year), $16,500 State Transportation Dollars, $15,000 in School District Funds and an Average of $12,360 in In-kind Donations to the Program.
