Executive Summary: Dove, Inc. Is a Private Nonprofit, 501(C)(3), Multi-service Agency Headquartered in Decatur, Illinois (macon County). Dove Was Created to Address the Unmet Human Needs and Social Injustice Experienced Throughout Our Community and Continues to Do So Today. Dove Has Been Sponsoring the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Macon and Dewitt Counties for 43 Years and Is Familiar With Senior Corps Federal Grant Procedures, Policies, and Requirements. in Our Efforts to Increase Supportive Services in Macon County, We Are Proposing to Have 13 Volunteers and Requesting $86,750 in Federal Funding. the Requested Federal Investment of $86,750 Will Be Supplemented by a Proposed $8,000 in Matching Funds, Supplemented by Agency Received Donations, to Meet the 10% Required Match, and $15,495 in Excess for a Total Budget of $110,245 Also, Dove Will Continue to Pursue Additional Funds, Made Available Through the State of Illinois, Illinois Department on Aging to Develop a Stable and Supportive Program, Better Serving Our Clients and Volunteers. Doves Senior Companion Program (SCP) Will Primarily Focus on Healthy Future Companionship and Respite for Seniors and Their Caregivers in Macon County, Illinois. We Are Focusing on This Aspect to Strengthen the Service We Provide to the Communities We Serve. We Will Do So by Partnering With Stations Whose Goals and Services Are in Line With and Supportive of Our National Service Senior Corps Volunteers Grant Requirements to Meet the Community Needs. by Obtaining Financial Funding Through This Grant, Dove Will Be Able to Bring Senior Companion Programming Back to the Macon County Area. This Funding Will Also Help Us in Our Efforts in Continuing to Collaborate With Our Community Partners, Volunteer Stations, Volunteers, and Staff to Address Our Areas' Most Pressing Needs While Still Offering Volunteers Impactful Opportunities to Serve in Their Communities by Supporting Our Most Vulnerable Citizens.
