9/11 Day

Mygooddeed Was Created in 2002 by the 9/11 Community With the Express Purpose of Establishing and Supporting the Transformation of the Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks Into an Annual Day of Service and Remembrance. the Organization Proposes, With CNCS Assistance, to Implement a Significant National Program to Mobilize at Least 20,000 Volunteers Across 10 Major Projects, Including 2,000 Military Veterans and 2,000 Youths, Who Will Volunteer on September 11, 2021, by Packing Meals for Those Who Are Food Insecure Including Veterans. This Program Aligns With the CNCS Request for Major Activities That Can Engage a Significant Number of Volunteers on September 11, 2021, the 20TH Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks. Our Proposal Addresses the Stated Purpose of the Nofo to "mobilize More Americans in Service and Remembrance Activities That Meet Community Needs and Honor the Sacrifices of Those Who Lost Their Lives or Family Members on September 11, 2001, or Who Rose in Service Because of That Tragedy." This Program Is Also Responsive to the CNCS Focus Areas of (a) Engaging and Supporting Veterans and Military Families in the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance Activities; (2) Engaging Youth in Service in Honor of the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, and (3) Training Volunteers Who Make a Commitment for Future Service.
