Zook Veterinary Services Is a One-veterinarian Mixed Animal Practice, With No Support Staff. I Serve a Rural Vet Shortage Area Where Agriculture Is the Primary Industry. My Large Animal Practice Is 100% Ambulatory Making It Difficult to Serve the Needs of the AREA'S Livestock Producers. Producers Have Difficulty Accessing Care for Cattle, Horses, Pigs, and Small Ruminants Due to the Limited Number of Practices Serving Large Animals in the Shortage Situation. the Aim Is to Increase the Availability and Accessibility of Food Animal Services Regardless of CLIENTS' on Farm Facilities or Haul in Capability. With the Requested Funds, I Will Add a 50% Large Animal Veterinary Assistant, Acquire a Hydraulic Squeeze Chute, an Alley and Crowding Tub, a Portable Ultrasound and Ai Equipment. This Will Enable Safer, More Efficient Care of Large Animals, and the Ability to Serve Producers Who Lack Safe Livestock Handling Facilities on Their Premises. the Project Increases Availability of and Access to Food Animal Veterinary Services by Increasing Efficiency of Operations, Enabling Haul in Services, and Expanding the Range of Services and Procedures Offered.
