Awards Issued Prior to January 20, 2025, Were Funded Under Previous Administrations and May Not Reflect the Priorities and Policies of the Current Administration. This Project Will Provide Training, Technical Assistance, and Scholarship Opportunities to 35 Veteranfarmers in Nebraska. Each Year, a Cohort of 11-12VETERAN Farmers Will Meet Online and in Person 11TIMES to Learn About Different Agritourism Opportunities to Incorporate on Their Farms. Nebraskatourism Commission, Legal Aid of Nebraska, Unl Extension and Veteran Farmers Will Contribute Tothe Curriculum, Site Selections, and Delivery of the Workshops. the Cohort Style of Delivery Will Allowparticipants to Network With Each Other and Learn From Each Other. Scholarships to Local, Regional Andnational Conferences Will Be Offered to Participants to Gain Further Knowledge About Local, Regionaland National Agritourism Topics. Online Classes Will Be Business Focused With an Emphasis Onagritourism, While Hands-on Classes Will Allow Participants to See Different Models of Agritourism,assist the Farmers While on the Farm Gathering Practical Knowledge From Participating in Activities, Andallow Forspecific Questions to Be Asked. Year One Will Focus on Farm Stores, and the Different Models Utilized in Nebraska, Year Two Will Focus on Upick Operations Throughout the State, and Year Three Willfocus on Farm Stays and Outdoor Events. This Project Is a New Project But Builds Upon Our Successfulprevious Proposal, Incorporating Lessons Learned as Well as Successful Strategies Tested.
