Awards Issued Prior to January 20, 2025, Were Funded Under Previous Administrations and May Not Reflect the Priorities and Policies of the Current Administration. Adams State University Has Obtained a Grant to Help People in the San Luis Valley and Beyond Prepare Students for Agriculture and Related Careers. This Rural Area Has Faced Financial Challenges and the University Aims to Improve PEOPLE'S Lives and Create Better Job Opportunities. They Plan to Do This by Helping More Students Get Jobs in Fields Like Farming, Ranching, Food, and Environmental Work With the U.s. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Other Industry Employers.adams State Will Create New Programs to Attract and Support Students. These Programs Will Include Scholarships to Help With School Costs, Hands-on Learning Experiences, Outreach, Mentoring, and Paid Internships. This Will Help Remove Obstacles for Students and Better Prepare Them for Careers. the Project Will Also Focus on Bringing High School and College Students Together to Access Career Opportunities in Agriculture and Related Industries.the Main Goal Is to Increase the Number of Students Studying These Subjects, Help Them Stay in School Until They Graduate, and Ensure They Find Good Jobs. Over the Next Five Years, Adams State Hopes to Award 48 Degrees in These Fields, With the Majority Going to Students From These Communities. They Expect That Many of These Graduates Will Go on to Work for the Usda or in Related Industries, Creating a Brighter Future for the Region as Well as Its Community Members.
