Awards Issued Prior to January 20, 2025, Were Funded Under Previous Administrations and May Not Reflect the Priorities and Policies of the Current Administration. the Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success (ORIS) Proposes a Project With the Long-term Goalto Increase the Number of Refugees and Immigrants in New Hampshire That Succeed as Beginning Farmers. Oris Does Accomplishes This Through Itsincubator Farming Program, Which Enhancesfarming Successes and Sustainability by Providing Training and Technical Assistance That Enables New Americans to Develop Theknowledge, Skills, and Tools Needed to Make Informed Farming Decisions for a New Hampshire Farm. ORIS'S Target Audience for This Project Consists Entirely of Socially Disadvantaged, Limited Resource Beginning Farmers, Specificallyrefugees and Immigrants Who Have Been Farming for Less Than Ten Years, or Have Never Previously Farmed.three-year Project Outcomes Will Include:retain at Least 90 Beginning Farmerparticipants in the Training Programfor More Than One Year.provide at Least 170 Beginning Farmers Witha Minimum of 5 Hours of Training and 10 Hours of Technical Assistance to Improve Theirknowledge, Skills, or Techniques.train at Least 128 Beginning Farmersabout the How to Sell Their Crops, Earing at Least $1,000DURING the Three-year Period.at Least 50 Beginning Farmers Provide Documentable Evidence of Improved Financial Sustainability Resulting From Participating in Project Training and Technical Assistance.collaborating Organizations INCLUDE:(1) Tufts University - New Entry Sustainable Farming Project (new Entry); (2) Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire (nofa-nh); (3) Land for Good (LFG); (4) Manchester Grows; and (5) Grow Nashua.
