Minnesota Literacy Council's Mission Is to Share the Power of Learning Through Education, Community Building and Advocacy. Our Proposed Vista Project Aligns With the CNCS Programming Priority Area of Education by Enabling Community-based Programs in Minnesota Communities to Ensure Access to High-quality Literacy Services for Low-income Individuals and Families. as a Result, Individuals and Whole Families Will Be Equipped to Reach Higher Levels of Education, Employability and Self-sufficiency, Ultimately Allowing Them to Break the Cycle of Poverty. Eighteen Vistas, Supported by Two Vista Leaders to Increase the Success of Projects, Will Increase Capacity Through Program Development in Service Areas Adult Literacy, K-12 Success and School Readiness. the Estimated Length of Time Required to Complete Projects Is Three to Five Years. We Also Request 46 Summer Associates. Summer Associates Will Serve for Eight Weeks to Help Children Entering Grades K-4 Maintain or Increase Reading Skills Over the Summer.
