Community Action, Inc. (CAI) Is a Charitable 501 (C)(3), Non-profit Corporation Established in 1965. Cai Has a Successful History of Delivering Diverse Services to Low Income Families, Students, and Aging Populations Within Our Communities. Cai Is Dedicated to Being a Community Catalyst, Providing and Coordinating Activities Which Alleviate Poverty, Promote Self Sufficiency and Advance Community Prosperity, and Strives to Be Recognized as a Premier Organization Solving Social and Economic Problems in Our Communities. Cai Has Been a Senior Corps-rsvp Sponsor Since 1971. Cai's Senior Corps-rsvp Will Serve Volunteers in Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson Counties. by the End of the Grant Cycle in Year Three, a Minimum of 61 Volunteers Will Serve in Outcome Based Assignments. an Additional Unduplicated 100 Volunteers Will Serve in the Tri-county Area to Address Additional Community Needs. Volunteers Will Provide Assistance to Aging Seniors, Low Income Families, and Children by Delivering Meals, Assisting at Food Pantries, Answering Medicare/medicaid Questions, Preparing Federal, State, and Local Tax Returns and Property Tax Rebates, Providing Support in Head Start Classrooms, Assisting Local Non-profits Achieve Their Mission, and Assisting Individuals to Remain Independent in Their Own Homes. a Variety of Opportunities Will Be Available to Volunteers Through 50 Plus Stations Located Throughout Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson Counties Including: Area Agencies of Aging, Food Pantries, Vita Sites, Hospitals, Libraries, Head Start Centers, Faith Based Organizations, Proprietary Healthcare Facilities, and Non-profit Organizations. Our Focus Area Is Healthy Futures. at the End of the Performance Period, Cai Expects to Maintain/recruit and Assign 61 Volunteers in the Following Outcomes: Home Delivered Meals, Food Pantry Assistance, and Apprise Hotline. the Outcomes Will Be Accomplished With a CNCS Federal Investment of $60,847 and $26,078 of Non-federal Support.
