The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Monroe County Has Been Serving the Non-profit Sector, Social Service Agencies and Government Organization of Monroe County Since 1990.AN Estimated 645 Active Volunteers, Aged 55 Years and Over Will Be Offered Opportunities That Are Interesting, Challenging and Rewarding Community Service at Any of the 80+ Partnered Sites. RSVP of Monroe County Will Place a Minimum of 79 Volunteers in Core Focus Areas. These Activities Will Include But Are Not Limited to Friendly Visiting to Address Socialization and Alienation, Grocery Shopping/meal Delivery to Address Food Security, Minor Home Repair to Address Aging in Place Home Modifications, Tutoring/interactive Reading/teaching Spanish to Address School Readiness, Medical Transportation to Address Aging in Place Medical Accessibility and Participating in Active Exercise Programs Like RSVP Sponsored Tap Dancing, Square Dancing and Home Crafting to Address Healthy Futures. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Healthy Futures. at the End of the Three-year Grant, 200 Individuals Will Be Surveyed Positive as Receiving Increased Social Support by Friendly Visiting/phone Calls, 200 Individuals Will Receive Medical Transportation for Increased Social Support Verified by Surveys of Satisfaction, 200 Individuals Will Receive Grocery Shopping/meal Delivery Services for Increased Food Security Verified by Surveys of Satisfaction, 200 Head Start Students Will Receive Tutoring/interactive Reading to Be Prepared for Kindergarten, $3000+ Will Be Saved by Residents Through Tax Preparation, and 75 Individuals Will Be Transitioned Into Safe and Affordable Housing. the CNCS Federal Investment of $ 78296 Will Be Supplemented by $ 42,228 (and $6758 Excess) by the Monroe County Area Agency on Aging and the County Commissioners.
