The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Continues to Grow and Thrive in Cattaraugus County. an Estimated 460 Volunteers Are Expected to Serve in Our Program. of Those 460, 306 Will Be Working in Areas Tied to Outcome-based Results. Volunteers Will Be Working in Several Priority Areas. These Program Areas Include: 1. Healthy Futures: Food and Obesity by Means of Food Distribution and Food Pantry Support 2. Veterans and Military Families: Veterans and Families Served by Means of Medical Transportation 3. Economic Opportunity: Housing by Means of Assisting With Emergency and Housing Placement Services 4. Healthy Futures: Physical Activities by Means of the Evidence-based Tai Chi for Arthritis Program 5. Healthy Futures: Aging in Place by Means of Food Delivery 6. Other Community Priorities: Cattaraugus County Department of Aging RSVP Will Partner With Local Community Organizations to Meet the Needs of Clients and Consumers Through Varied Duties Related to Skilled or Assisted Living Care, Adult Day Care, Hospital and Emergency Room Care, Pet and Animal Care, Community Library Services, Tourism and Entertainment Services, Social and Meal Programs, Tax Services and General Clerical/data Entry Services. the Newer Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Disaster Services. Specifically We Will Have 15 Volunteers Trained in Emergency and Disaster Preparedness and Working to Help Expand the Recently Established Emergency Response Registry of Elderly and Frail Residents in Cattaraugus County. These Volunteers Will Complete the Cert (citizens Emergency Response Team) Training Offered Through the County and Then Conduct Outreach in a Variety of Ways to Include Face to Face, Handouts, Flyers and Group Trainings. at the End of the Three Year Grant Cycle, an Estimated 300 Frail, Elderly, Isolated And/or Individuals Living With Disabilities in Cattaraugus County Will Be Entered Into the Newly Established Disaster Registry. 400 Individuals Will Report Having Increased Social Support and Food Security Through Food Delivery and Transportation Services and 50 Individuals Will Report Having Increased Food Security Through Food Pantry Assistance. the CNCS Federal Investment of $40,000 Will Be Supplemented by an Anticipated $85,925 in Non-federal Resources.
