An Estimated 57 FGP Volunteers Will Serve. of This Number, 48 Foster Grandparents Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include Literacy and /or Math Skill Practice With Students, Comforting Infants, Mentoring With Young Mothers, Motivate Children to Follow Directions, Share and Take Responsibility as Well as Fostering Proper Social/behavior Skills Through Engagement and Modeling. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Education. at the End of the Three Year Grant, Foster Grandparents Will Have Tutored 345 Students in the Public School With a Target of 200 With Improved Academic Performance in Literacy And/or Math Skills. Foster Grandparents Will Also Work With 900 Head Start Children of Which 450 Will Demonstrate Gains in School Readiness in Terms of Social And/or Emotional Development. Foster Grandparents Will Also Care for at Least 125 Infants. the CNCS Federal Investment of $265,392.00 Will Be Supplemented by $ 29,488.
