RSVP of Central Arkansas Proposes to Utilize 497 Unduplicated Volunteers. RSVP Volunteers Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include: 1.) Environmental Stewardship-primary Focus Area - Volunteers Will Serve in Parks and Gardens Where Grounds and Natural Habitat Are Well Maintained. 2.) Disaster Services - Partnering With the Arkansas Emergency Agencies During Natural Disasters Such as, Tornados, Fires, and Flooding. 3.) Healthy Futures - This Area Will Focus on Educating Beneficiaries in Healthcare Fraud and Abuse Through the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP). Serving in Food Banks and Pantries. 4.) Veterans and Military Families - Volunteers Will Answer the Needs of Transportation to Hospitals and Appointments, Feeding Dementia Patients, Companionship and Office Needs. 5.) Education - Serving in Public Elementary Schools as Mentors for Students Who Struggle With Reading and Math Skills. 6.) Other Community Services - RSVP Will Serve in Local Hospitals Helping Healthcare Administrators With Patients. at the End of This 3-YEAR Grant, RSVP of Central Arkansas Will Meet the Requirements, Outcomes and Needs of Each Work Plan Presented in This Grant. the CNCS Share of $145,336 Will Be Supplemented by $43,601 (30%) of Non-federal Resources. RSVP of Central Arkansas Will Survey the Needs of the Community in Collaboration With Programs Throughout This Targeted 4-COUNTY Service Area of Pulaski, Lonoke, Saline and Garland. Collaborative Programs Include: Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, Va Healthcare Hospitals and Centers, School Districts in the 4-COUNTY Area, Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and National Parks.
