An Estimated 850 RSVP Volunteers Will Serve at 70 Partner Volunteer Stations in Centre County Each Year From 2018 Through 2020. of This Number, 57 RSVP Volunteers Will Be Working in Outcome-based Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Focus on Healthy Futures (aging in Place, Independent Living) That Includes Food Delivery Through Meals on Wheels of State College and Economic Opportunities in Financial Literacy That Includes Free Tax Counseling and Local/state/federal Tax Preparation Targeted to Poverty Stricken Individuals and Families Through the Vita Program. There Are Two Primary Focus Areas of This Project: Healthy Futures With Service Activities on Meal Deliveries; Economic Opportunities With Free Tax Counseling and Preparation. at the End of the Three-year Grant, 27 RSVP Volunteers Will Have Helped 100 Homebound Seniors Per Year Receive Daily Food Delivery. 25% of These Seniors Each Year Will Have Reported an Increase in Independence as a Result of the Visits by These RSVP Volunteers Through Delivery of Meals. in Addition, 30 RSVP Volunteers Will Have Provided 1,400 Individuals/households Per Year With Free Tax Counseling and Local/state/federal Tax Return Preparation Resulting in an Average Saving of $200 Per Individual/household. the Overall Budget Calls for $128,782 Which Includes a Proposed $55,561 CNCS Grant Award. Our Support Is Reflected in the Fact That Although the Required 30% Centre County Office of Aging Match Amount Is $16,668, We Anticipate Providing an Additional Optional Funding of $56,552.
