An Estimated 29 Foster Grandparent Volunteers Will Serve in Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties. All 29 Foster Grandparents Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments; of These, 21 Will Serve in Evidence-based Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include Assisting in School Readiness Classrooms, K-12 Literacy and Math Tutoring, Smart Tutoring, as Well as Mentoring Local At-risk Youth. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is K-12 Success, Specifically Focused on Literacy Gains for Low-income, K-3 English Language Learning Students. at the End of the Three-year Grant the Ocwcog FGP Volunteers Will Have Tutored an Estimated 151 Children With an Estimated 128 Showing Increased Emotional, Literacy and Math Gains. These Gains Provided by the FGP Volunteer Will Enhance Intergenerational Relationships, Develop Strong Senior Community Leaders and Provide Both Cognitive and Emotional Benefits to the Volunteer. the CNCS Federal Investment of $141663 Will Be Supplemented by $44,014 From Local Support to Include Local Match and In-kind Funding.
