Rocky Mountain Development Council, Inc. (RMDC) Is a Non-profit 501(C)(3) Human Resource Development Council. RMDC Has Been Working in South-central Montana Since 1965 and Is Part of a Network of Ten Such Organizations in Montana and 1,000 Community Action Agencies Around the Nation. Rmdc?s Mission Is to Strive to Improve Quality of Life and Promote Self-sufficiency for Individuals and Families. an Estimated 60 Vsy FGP Volunteers Will Serve. of This Number, 60 Vsy?s Will Be Placed in National Performance Measure Outcome Assignments. the Foster Grandparent Program Supports 7 Southwest Counties With 60 Vsys Serving at 28 Sites Addressing School Readiness and Succeeding in Kindergarten Through 12TH Grade. 360 Head Start Students and K-12 Students Will Be Served. Some of Their Activities Will Include Mentoring and Tutoring Children With Special and Exceptional Needs. More Specifically, Our Volunteers Will Be Working With Children on Reading, Spelling and Math Skills. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Education. at the End of the Three-year Grant, 85% of the 360 Students Will Report Having Improved Academic Performance in Literacy And/or Math and Those Children in Early Head Start and Head Start Will Demonstrate Gains in School Readiness in Terms of Social And/or Emotional Development. the CNCS Federal Investment of $360,000 Will Be Supplemented of at Least $40,000 of Non-federal Resources.
