Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa (CCMI) Proposes to Have 72 Americorps Members Who Will Serve in Green Infrastructure Initiatives and Disaster Response for Community Health, Safety and Well-being in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. at the End of the First Program Year, the Americorps Members Will Be Responsible for 15,000 Acres of Vital Habitat Restored; 400 Miles of Trail And/or Waterway Creation or Improvement; and 72 Members Trained, Equipped and Available to Respond to Disasters. in Addition, the Americorps Members Will Leverage an Additional 500 Community Volunteers Who Will Be Engaged in River Clean-ups, Rain Garden Installations and Tree Planting Events. This Program Will Focus on Infrastructure in Public Parks and Inland Waterways, Environmental Stewardship and Disaster Services. the Requested CNCS Investment Is $739,728. Other Revenue: This Program Will Be Supported by Non CNCS Funds in the Amount of $1,726,120.
