The Corps Network Proposes to Have 3356 Americorps Members (for a Total of 1376.81 Msy) Who Will Complete Environmental Stewardship Projects in Hundreds of Communities Across 42 States and DC. at the End of the First Program Year, the Americorps Members Will Be Responsible for Improving 44,000 Acres of Public Land and 2450 Miles of Trails and Waterways; Mapping/surveying 100,000 Acres of Public Land; and Collecting 2500 Tons of Recycling. in Addition, the Americorps Members, Many of Whom Are Opportunity Youth, Will Be Provided With Educational and Economic Opportunities Designed to Lead to Jobs and Careers and Will Leverage an Additional 4000 Volunteers. This Program Will Concentrate on the CNCS Focus Areas of Environmental Stewardship, Disaster Services, and Economic Opportunity. the CNCS Investment of $1,101,600 in Admin Fees Will Be Matched With $68,897,410 From Federal, State, and Local Resource Management Agencies Including the National Park Service, the Us Forest Service, State Departments of Natural Resources, and City Departments of Parks and Recreation, as Well as a Variety of Public and Private Philanthropies. .
