An Estimated 500 RSVP Volunteers Will Serve. Some of Their Activities Will Include Distributing Food Through Community Food Pantries, Training Community Emergency Response Team Members, Supporting Community Gardening, Providing Income Tax Preparation Assistance, Delivering Meals to Home Bound Seniors, Tutoring Students, Helping to Rebuild Lives and Homes of Those Affected by Wildfire Disaster, and Maintaining Fragile Eco-systems While Maintaining Hiking Trails. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Healthy Futures. at the End of the Three-year Grant, North Coast Opportunities (NCO) Anticipates That 75% of Low-income People Participating in Food Distribution and Community Gardening Programs That Are Supported by RSVP Volunteers Will Report Increased Food Security for Themselves and Their Children (outcome H12). the CNCS Federal Investment of $66,282 Will Be Supplemented by $69,922 in Cash and In-kind Matching Contributions. Through Its Community Action Programming, Nco Focuses Its Efforts on a Broad Theme of Self-empowerment and Alleviation of Poverty. in Keeping With This Theme, Nco Will Continue Offering a Wide Range of Volunteer Opportunities for Local Seniors. Working With 500 Volunteers, the Lake and Mendocino Counties RSVP 2017-2020 Project Will Address Five National Service Focus Areas (healthy Futures, Environment, Economic Opportunity, Education, and Disaster Services).
