Executive Summary Dove, Inc. Sponsors the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, RSVP, of Macon and Dewitt Counties. Dove, Inc. Is a Private, Nonprofit 501(C) 3 Multi-service Agency Formed in 1970 to Address Unmet Human Needs and Social Injustices in Our Community. RSVP Has Been a Part of Dove for 41 Years. in Continuing Support of This Long-standing and Successful Program, We Are Proposing to Have 410 Volunteers and Are Requesting $62,768 in Federal Funding. the Federal Investment of $62,768 Will Be Supplemented by a Proposed $16,200 in State Matching Funds Supplemented by $ 2,650. in Agency Received Donations to Meet a 30% Match and $65,467 in Local Support in Order to Support the Total Budget of $147,085. as of the Current Date of Submission, the State of Illinois Has Failed to Provide a Budget for the Second Year in a Row. There Was a Stop-gap Budget That Provided $30,801 in Funds for an 18 Month Period. No New Grant Applications for the 2017 Fiscal Year Has Been Offered by the State. Dove Inc. and the RSVP Program Have Been Very Pro-active in This Situation and Have Managed to Eliminate Non-essentials in Order to Maintain a Healthy Active RSVP Program That Continues to Serve Our Most Needed Populations in Our Community. Many RSVP Stations Have Been Affected by the Budget Impasse and the Program Has Seen a Slight Decrease in Volunteer Opportunities in the Communities Due to Closures of Stations Through This Budget Crisis. Volunteers Have Remained Active in Their Communities Serving Those Who Are Most at Risk. This Has Changed the Dynamics of Stations as Many Are Working With Less Staff And/or Prioritizing the Volunteer Opportunities by Eliminating Activities That Are Not Cost Effective at This Time. While Needs Are Expected to Grow in Absence of a State Budget, RSVP Will Work Hard With Our Area Partners to Help Shoulder the Responsibility of the Growing Needs in the Community Where We Can and Filter Additional Volunteers From Closed Programs to Stations That Remain Active. the Budget Crisis in Illinois Continues to Loom With No Real Solutions in Sight. in Collaboration With Our Community Partners, Volunteer Stations, Advisory Council, Volunteers and Staff We Will Work Hard to Meet the Needs We Will Address With This Grant.
