An Estimated 88 RSVP Volunteers Will Serve in Greene County. of This Number, All 88 RSVP Volunteers Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include Packaging and Distributing Home Delivered Meals to Homebound Elderly; Educating Older Adults About Financial Literacy; Preparing Taxes for Senior Citizens, Low-income Individuals and People With Disabilities Through the Vita Tax Assistance Program; Providing Telephone Reassurance to Isolated Seniors to Ensure Their Well-being; and Mentoring Children Through Intergenerational Activities in Head Start Classrooms. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Healthy Futures Which Supports Living Independently and Aging in Place. at the End of the Three-year Grant, 350 Older Adults Will Report Improved Food Security, 250 Economically Disadvantaged Individuals Will Receive Financial Literacy Services, 60 Seniors Will Have Increased Social Support Through the Telephone Reassurance Service, and 144 Students in Early Childhood Education Programs Will Demonstrate Gains in School Readiness. the Three Year CNCS Federal Investment of $192,048 Will Be Supplemented by $48,012 in Non-federal Resources.
