An Estimated 24 Senior Companion Volunteers Will Serve in Roosevelt and Curry County. of This Number 24 Senior Companions Will Be Placed in Outcome Assignments. Some of Their Activities Will Include Companionship. the Primary Focus Area of This Project Is Healthy Futures. at the End of the Three-year Grant, the Senior Companion Program (SCP) Volunteers Will Have Addressed the Needs of the Community by Meeting or Exceeding the Outcomes;number of Individuals With Increased Social Support and the Number of Caregivers Who Reported Having Increased Social Ties/perceived Social Support. the CNCS Federal Investment of $0. New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department (nmaltsd) Investment Is $138,000 and Will Be Supplemented by Community Services Center (CSC) the Sponsoring Agency in the Amount of $1,126. Community Services Center Is a Non-profit Multi-service Center That Has Been Providing Services in Roosevelt County Since 1965, Hosting the SCP Since 1974. the Center Provides Services That Include: Information and Referral, Community Development, Community Revitalization, Client Advocacy, Citizen Participation, Volunteer Information and Special Projects. the Senior Companion Program at Community Services Center Provides Services to Roosevelt and Curry County. the Goal of the Senior Companion Program Is to Provide Companionship and Outreach Services to the Elderly, Disabled And/or Homebound Citizens of Roosevelt and Curry County. Volunteers Are Placed in Senior Centers (on a Temporary Basis), Assisted-living Homes and Homes of the Elderly. the Volunteers Help Alleviate Loneliness and Prevent Isolation by Increasing Many Seniors Ability to Remain Independent and Living in Their Own Homes for as Long as Possible. the Senior Companion Program Targets Low- Income Seniors When Recruiting Volunteers and Focuses on Providing Services to the Low-income/disadvantaged Seniors in the Community. This Allows the Low-income Seniors to Supplement Their Income and at the Same Time Contribute to the Needs of Other Seniors. the Mission of Community Services Center (CSC) Is to Provide On-going Opportunities to Empower All of the People of Roosevelt and Curry County to Collaborate in Reducing Community Problems. This Enlightened Concept Will Become the Norm of the Community.
