Teach for America-south Dakota Proposes to Have 55 Professional Corps Americorps Members Who Will Be Responsible for Teaching for Two Years in Low-income and Disadvantaged Schools on the Standing Rock, Pine Ridge, and Rosebud Reservations in South Dakota, Going Above and Beyond Traditional Expectations to Help Their Students Achieve at High Levels. at the End of the First Program Year, They Will Have Increased the Academic Achievement of the Over 2,000 Students They Teach. in Addition, the Americorps Members Will Leverage Additional Volunteers Who Will Be Engaged in Supporting Students in Classrooms and Schools. This Program Will Focus on the CNCS Focus Area of Education. the CNCS Investment of $44,000 Will Be Leverage an Additional $1.8M in Private and Public Funding.
