The Copper River Native Association (CRNA) Will Strengthen and Expand Victim Services in the Copper River Region of Alaska, Which Includes the Ahtna Tribal Communities of Cantwell, Kluti-kaah, Gakona, Gulkana, Mentasta, and Tazlina, as Well as Surrounding Rural Populations. the Purpose of This Project Is to Address Urgent Needs Related to Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Through Culturally Responsive Services That Increase Accessibility, Integration, and Sustainability of Support for Families and Youth. the Project Will Serve Alaska Native and Non-native Residents Across a Geographically Isolated Area That Are Victims of Domestic Violence, Children Impacted by Abuse, and Their Families, Along With At-risk Individuals Who Often Remain Unrecognized Due to High Rates of Underreporting. Activities Will Include Enhancing Counseling and Case Management Services, Expanding Victim Navigation and Care Coordination, Implementing the Aaniish Naa Gegii Childrens Health and Well-being Measure as a Culturally Grounded Screening Tool, Developing Partnerships With the Copper River School District and Local Law Enforcement, Conducting Community Outreach and Engagement, and Building a Web-based Portal to Increase Visibility of Available Services.
