The Osceola County Sheriffs Office (OCSO) Will Continue to Be the Host Agency for the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. the Top Goal Is to Prevent, Interdict, and Investigate Icac Offenses. in Addition, the Central Florida Icac Task Force Will Continue to Serve as a Financial and Technical Resource, Respond to Agency Referrals, Engage in Law Enforcement, Community Outreach Activities, and Effectively Prosecute Cases at the Local, State, and Federal Levels. the Central Florida Icac Task Force Covers 17 Counties in Central Florida. the Population of That Area Is Roughly 8.4 Million People and Is Comprised of a Diverse Population. the Areas Population Is Larger Than 38 Individual States. Separating Just the Counties of Orange, Osceola and Seminole, the Tri-county Area Had a Record 74 Million Visitors in 2022. These Numbers Solidify the Central Florida Area as the Lead Position as Americas Most Visited Destination. With Ever-changing Technology Creating Challenges in Investigating Internet-based Crimes, Staying Up-to-date on the Most Current Training Techniques Are Paramount in an Ever-changing Work Environment. It Is Another Goal of the Central Florida Icac Task Force to Ensure That Law Enforcement and Prosecutors Are Fully Trained in the Most Current Methods and Platforms of Investigating and Successfully Seeing These Cases Through Prosecution.
