The City of Slaughters Proposes to Implement the Webster County Pathway Project in Partnership With the Beacon of West Kentucky. the Purpose Is to Develop Comprehensive, Collaborative and Best Practice Services to Empower and Equip Webster County Communities to Support Drug Endangered Children, Families, and Individuals Struggling With Substance Use Disorders (sud). the Goals Are to: 1) Reduce the Impact of Substances on Children, Adults, and the Community While Reducing the Number of Overdoses; 2) Reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences for Drug Endangered Children While Strengthening Their Protective Factors; 3) Increase Community Collaboration and Capacity; and 4) Build and Strengthen Families. Project Activities Will Include Employing Guest Speakers to K-12 Students; K9 Substance Education Program in Schools; Implementation of Evidence-based Curriculum Too Good for Drugs and Lambi Learns in All Elementary Schools; Education for Students Attending the 21ST Century (afterschool) Community Learning Center Programs Using Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Curriculum; Quarterly Family Enrichment Events; Overdose Kits and Referral Services to Families And/or Individuals; Peer to Peer Support for Families Struggling With Substance Use Disorders (sud); Local Mobile Crisis Team Support, and Other Relevant, Targeted Training and Educational Programming. Expected Outcomes Include 1) Organization of a Successful Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Alliance That Promotes Healthy and Safe Children, Families, and Communities Free From the Negative Impact of Substance Misuse and Drug ACTIVITY;2) Evidence-based Curriculums Embedded in the School District (K-12); 3) Reduction in Recidivism; 4) Reduction in the Number of Overdoses; 5) a Community Prepared to Positively Combat the Trauma of Sud); and 6) Increased Data Sources to Build Capacity and Sustainability.
